START LINE & COURSE:
Get ready for a Rivalry Clash! There are two start areas for each race facing each other like the armies of old! Runners will line up alongside their fellow fans. The fastest runners will be placed closest to the start line. Husky fans will line up at the West start line, Cougar fans will line up at the East start line. Runners will “clash” then merge into race battle.
Get ready to set some personal records! The very scenic and flat course, combined with the rivalry energy will make these fast and fun races for everyone. These courses are mostly paved except for a quarter mile stretch of hard packed gravel just before the finish line. There will be one water station along the 10K course where you can refuel with Nuun water and snacks.
These courses are measured by multiple GPS units and measuring wheel and chip timed by Accustat Sports Timing. Results will be posted at the event and on the website following the race.
Finish place and time matters! The faster the better. The top 50 finishers in each of the 5K and 10K races will score the number of points equal to their finish place. So if you finish 1st place, you score one point. If you finish 20th place, you score 20 points. The lower the points the better.
Prepare for more rivalry fun at the post-race Tailgate party which features a beer garden, music/awards stage, and sponsored rivalry tailgate games:
GOLAZO - Soccer Penalty Kicks & Juggling Contest
REDHOOK BREWERY - Corn Hole & Giant Beer Pong
BASE CAMP BREWING CO. - Flip Cup
VITA COCO WATER - Limbo
ADVOCARE - Tug o War
RIVALRY CLASH – Ladder Ball
Each game is worth points as well to go towards the total teams points for the event.
SCORING: The team with HIGHEST total of points from the tailgate games is declared the Tailgate winner, but points will be swapped with the opposing team to be calculated with the 5K & 10K races to determine the lowest score and OVERALL Rivalry Clash winning team.
